Keychron K10 with Kailh Pale Blue switches. Typing speeds.

I was finding the GMMK full-sized keyboard with Kailh Box Navy switches a nice change, but also quite fatiguing after even just a few hours of typing. The Box Whites are way too light. The Pinks ... might be, too? Jades are pretty close to Navy switches. So I figured I’d try the Pale Blue switch again (I have them on a GK705, one of the first boards I setup almost exactly 2 years ago, but I don’t really use it much, it’s not a great board). (Hmm. I forgot I first setup the GMMK with Pale Blues?). I don’t know if the switches have changed, or if using them with a Keychron (K10J3, RGB hot-swap aluminum, came with Gateron Browns that didn’t suck as much as I remembered (typed on them for a few days until the Pale Blue switches arrived) is that different, but, these are stiffer than I remember. Definitely lighter weight than the Navy switches, with a soft but distinct click as I type. Anyway. I like it so far. I’m definitely more accurate than I was with the brown switches, that little extra “oomph” needed to trigger a keypress is a godsend. Think I’ll be hacking some code on this thing. Definitely.

Not in the zone but figured I’d try it for giggles... Using https://www.typing.com/student/typing-test/1-minute:

K10 / Pale Blue: 61 wpm 97% accuracy.
K10 / Brown: 77 wpm, 98% accuracy.
C1 / Boba U4: 66 wpm, 95% accuracy.
C1 / Boba U4 (again): 81 wpm, 98% accuracy.
GMMK / Navy: 79 rpm, 97% accuracy.
K10 / Pale Blue (again): 76 wpm, 98% accuracy.
K10 / Pale Blue (again): 71 wpm, 96% accuracy.
K10 / Pale Blue (again, 3 minute test): 71 wpm, 96% accuracy.

Hmm. No matter what, I’m doing pretty alright: “[Y]ou should aim for a typing speed of at least 40 WPM to keep up a standard level of efficiency at work. For some professions, the standards are higher. To land a job as a personal or executive assistant, you might be required to type at least 60 words per minute. Word processors generally must be able to type in a range of 55 to 90 words per minute.” https://www.typing.com/blog/typing-speed/ But still. I though I’d be faster on these custom(ish) keebs.

I should run these tests at home where I have more tactile switch options (Kailh Box Royal, different weight Boba U4s, Baby Kangaroo in the Halo 75).
