MacBook Screen Protectors

A lot of folks like to parrot the warning that using a screen protector with a MacBook will damage the screen. I’ve found the opposite is true. I’ve been using ShaggyMax inserts since my Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro days, and currently use this 14" MacBook Pro M2 M1 Screen Protector, Keyboard Cover with a 14" MacBook Pro (2021 M1 Pro). I couldn’t find a ShaggyMax product for the retina Airs from 2020, so I ended up with these GhostBlanket protectors. I’ve been using both for a while now (about 9 months with the GhostBlankets), with my laptop unceremoniously tossed into the sleeve of a Timbuk2 backpack and tossed around, e.g., Disneyland. No issues whatsoever. They’re roughly the same sort of protection Apple ships these things with from the factory; draw your own conclusions.

The alternative: From past experience, marks all over the screen (at best) (14,400,000+ links for a topical Google search). YMMV.
