Early general admission (GA) wristband at the KIA Forum
Nine Inch Nails tonight will be the second time in the past ~year I’ll be GA at KIA Forum in Los Angeles. The first was Kacey Musgraves, and we got there about 6 p.m. no wrist bands, and it was fine. (We were on the railing fairly far stage left, but my friend needed the railing, so it worked out.) For NIN I decided to try the wristband thing.
Early G.A. Wristband acquired |
I had to make a court appearance which I did in the car on the way there, and got to the Forum around 9:20 for a sold out show (a scant few pit tickets are still available places like Vivid Seats and StubHub, for > $1,000...). I drove around a little before I found a security employee directing traffic I was able to ask for help; he pointed out the canopy under which the wristbands were being given out, and told me I’d have to “park in the area.” All of the streets immediately around the Forum are no stopping any time, or no parking with 2 hour parking for permit holders:
I found metered parking on Manchester just west of the Starbucks. (I used the QR code to pay for parking but neglected to note the parking meter number, but Google Maps showed me it was # 558, the closest one to the Starbucks.)
This put me 0.3 miles, an 8 minute walk, from the corner where the wristbands were being given out (Kareem and Manchester).
By the time I got there (about 9:30 a.m.), there was no line, and my wristband is numbered 0079. I was told to come back any time after 4 p.m. (16:00) and line up at Lot C. (We have preferred parking, which is right next door.)
The information on the KIA Forum site is a little confusing; you do not get admitted then and there or have to wait out in the line until early access doors open, at least not for this show. So I’m at the office for a few hours and will return later today.
